End Stitch Presser Plate

Here's another "mystery" part that can be found with some machines.

When knitting with the ribber, the End Stitch Presser Plates can help the stitches knit more cleanly.

A knitter asked: "I've got a Brother KR850 with these little parts. Could they fit my Brother KR260" If the plate fits over the gate pegs, you might be able to substitute machines, BUT the bulky (260) gate pegs are shaped differently than the standard.

I've only seen these with Brother machines. Do other models include these presser plates?

A knitter mentioned a P-Carriage, P-presser. This is a Silver Reed attachment for knitting Drive Lace and Pile Knitting.
It looks similar the the End Stitch Presser Plate, but has a different function.

Thank you for this video Sue. I've always wondered what these "gizmos" did and why they were included in the accessories. The manual shows the diagram and names them, but never explained why or how you should use them.

I just put an image in the blog post. if the gate pegs are shaped correctly, I'd bet you could exchange the plates from different machines. As to "Where to buy them?" you might try some of the folks listed here https://knititnow.com/repairs But now you know what to call them :o)

My singer 700 has a ribber SRP60N I believe it has this part and they called it a “P carriage presser” But I could be wrong. Reference (the very last page item #20) https://sewknit.ca/download/silver-reed-diagrams/SRP60N.pdf
